2 tablespoons white sugar
1 cup warm water
1 teaspoon active dry yeast
1 cup starter
1/2 tablespoon salt
2 cups bread flour
2 cups all-purpose flour
Mix Starter, sugar, water, yeast, and bread flour thoroughly. Cover and let sit 1 hour.
Add in the salt and knead in the remaining flour. Turn out onto a work surface and knead into a smooth ball, using only a little flour if needed to prevent sticking.
Oil the inside of the bowl or container using some of the garlic oil. Place dough in and cover. Let rise for 1-2 hours, until doubled.
Punch down dough and divide into equal portions about 3 ounces each. Roll out into small balls then shape into sticks.
Lay the bread sticks on parchment or silicone lined pan(s), not quite touching. Brush with garlic oil over and between each, and let rise for 45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Bake 15 minutes. Remove and brush with garlic oil again.
Bake until golden, 10 to 15 minutes more. Serve with more garlic oil or garlic butter for dipping.
