2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups milk
2 T. sugar
2 eggs
1/4 cup oil
1 tsp. salt
1 T. baking powder
As written, this makes 1 large waffle each.
Mix dry ingredients in one bowl and wet in another.
Mix together by slowly incorporating the dry into the wet
Pour into preheated waffle iron and close.
It will begin to steam. Watch for the steam to significantly slow or stop before opening.
Optional:
Separate your yolks and whites.
Add the yolks to the other wet ingredients.
Beat the egg whites in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form. Mix your wet and dry ingredients, then gently fold the egg whites into your batter.
Add ins:
To add something like fruit, put some of the batter in a separate bowl and mix the fruit into that. Add dollops of this mixed batter to the other batter when you fill the machine.
Chicken and waffles:
If you are making chicken and waffles, make the chicken first, and while it is the oven make your waffles. Fried Chicken
*You can toss in 1 cup of discarded starter if you have it (per batch). It's not necessary to make any other changes to the recipe.
